American Express Reward Shopping

American Express reward shopping has become popular in some quarters. What better combination to aspire to than the brand of American Express and the promise of free rewards for using their facilities! And American Express welcomes those that wish to spend using their card, and does so with handsome cashback and gift rewards.

This follows (or joins) a lengthy trend among credit card companies. Spend using their facilities and they will offer you a sweetener in the form of a cashback reward or further discount. American Express reward shopping has offered financial cashback and, traditionally and enticingly, air miles. Indeed, many people around the world have utilised the Air Mile program like some sort of elite badge of honour - as if they were part of an exclusive club.

\"cash Back Credit Cards\"

And, in retrospect, perhaps they were, and still are. Because institutions looking to reap the benefits of your financial share, will work hard to provide you with an incentive to, not only spend more and more, but to do so using their card. They will welcome you in to the "luxury" world of cashback and other incentives with offers that couldn't otherwise be found.

American Express Reward Shopping

Cashback rewards are not new. In the UK, credit institutions such as Barclaycard, Goldfish and Egg, have long offered something in return for your custom. Their seemingly already small margins have led, in some cases, to a reduction in their cashback reward scheme over time (Goldfish, for example, have cut their cashback rates by 50% and Barclaycard have abolished theirs altogether).

But American Express remain dominant worldwide in the cashback states, although their presences in the UK, for example, is somewhat limited. However, their scheme offers, not only cashback, but also other incentives including discounted air travel, hotel accommodation, car hire and ferry transfers.

The consumers do, of course, pay for all of these deals. Even American express reward shopping comes at a price - whether it be interest charges on the credit cards (for delayed or late payment) or the inflated buying patterns - perhaps cashback and reward-driven - of those using plastic instead of "hard cash".

Whatever the profile of the customer, companies know the appeal of cashback incentives and reward shopping and are only too quick to welcome us the world of membership rewards!

Truth About Paying Collection Accounts and Credit Score

There is one thing most bankrupt people have in common...collection accounts.

However, it's been my experience that most bankrupt people want to do the right thing and pay off the account(s). Sometimes it just takes a little time. And when you do the right thing, you expect the collection agency to do the right thing, too-don't you?

\"cash Back Credit Cards\"

Well, unfortunately, that's not always the case.

Truth About Paying Collection Accounts and Credit Score

Paying it Off Doesn't Improve Credit Score

Even after you pay it off in full, and your credit reports show that you've paid the collection in full and have a balance, it won't help your FICO credit scores.

Here's why...

Any appearance of a collection account on your personal credit reports lowers your credit scores. Once it finds its way onto your credit report, it's part of your credit history. Whether you pay it off or not is of little consequence.

Original Dollar Amount of Collection Account Doesn't Matter

Whether, the collection account is 0 for a severely overdue library book or ,000 for 50 overdue library books-the end result is the same-your credit scores can decrease by the same amount.

This is a critical point. Many people think that because the debt is small, it can't possibly hurt their credit scores.

Wrong.

Everyone knows that late payments on your mortgage or car loan, which can be hundreds or thousands of dollars, will damage your credit. However, if you let even a small amount go to a collection agency, and it appears on your credit reports, it can damage your credit just as much.

Bottom line: anything from a collection agency that appears on your credit reports is going to decrease your credit scores. So, become extremely vigilant in protecting your credit reports from this type of information appearing in the first place.

Check Personal Credit Reports for a Collection Account

It's a good idea to check your personal credit reports on a regular basis. When was the last time you checked yours? Now would be a good time. Go to http://www.myfico.com/12 and pay close attention to any negative items in the Public Records section.

Another option would be to subscribe to a credit monitoring service that allows you to monitor all activity on your three credit reports.

To Fight or Not to Fight...

If you want to win the credit scoring war, you have to know which battles to fight. The little battles over small dollar amounts are the ones you want to avoid. You're going to lose those...even if you're right. In my opinion, it's not worth the risk of lowering your FICO credit scores.

Here's an example of how a collection account can damage your credit. It comes from one of my readers in Marietta, Georgia.

She lived in an apartment with two other girls. They had all signed the lease. When they moved out, the apartment complex assessed them 0 in fees to cover damages to the apartment. Two of them sent in 0 each, but the third didn't bother.

When the apartment complex sent a letter to all three girls demanding the last 0, the girls ignored it.

You guessed it-it eventually showed up as a collection on all three of their credit reports. That collection, for only 0, lowered her Equifax score from a high of 720 to a low of 512!

This was years ago-and her score still hasn't fully recovered.

Wouldn't it have been worth it for them to swallow their pride and pay the last 0?

Other Items that Show Up in the Public Records Section

Other items that can show up in the Public Records section and are treated much like collection accounts by FICO scoring models are:

- Federal and state tax liens (released and not released)

- Judgments and satisfied judgments

- Bankruptcy

When any of these items show up on your credit reports, your FICO credit scores go down.

How much? There's no specific number, but your scores can easily go down by 100 points...or more.

Sure, if you pay off the collection it will show a balance on your credit report. The problem is-from a credit scoring standpoint your FICO credit scores will go south regardless if the public record item is paid or not.

So the moral of the story is-once a collection account appears on your personal credit reports, you can't resolve it by paying it off. You're better off paying what you owe before it gets sent to a collection agency and shows up on your credit reports.

Bad Credit Visa Cards - Ways to Get a Credit Card with Poor Credit

Getting approved for a Visa credit card with bad credit is tricky. On
one hand, there are lenders eager to help you rebuild credit or
establish credit. On the other hand, some lenders only approve applicants with
a solid credit history. If you have bad credit, a bad credit Visa card
is useful. Here are a few tips to help you get approved.

Benefit of Having a Credit Card

Credit

Credit cards serve a convenient purpose. If you are reserving airline
tickets, renting a car, etc, having access to a credit card makes the
transaction smoother. Furthermore, credit cards are great to have during
a crisis. Ironically, emergencies tend to occur when we are financially
strapped. When used responsibly, credit cards can provide an immediate
solution to money woes.

Bad Credit Visa Cards - Ways to Get a Credit Card with Poor Credit

Unfortunately, having no credit history may place you in the same class
as a person with bad credit. In both instances, lenders are unconvinced
of your credit worthiness. An applicant with no history could possibly
misuse credit, whereas a person with bad credit has a history of using
credit unwisely.

Nonetheless, there are ways to prove credit worthiness. If you have no
credit history, acquiring a credit card is the first step to
establishing credit. Moreover, if you have bad credit, obtaining a bad credit
Visa card is an ideal way to re-establish credit and boost credit score.

How to Get Approved for a Bad Credit Visa Card?

If you are having a difficult time getting approved for a Visa credit
card, consider applying for credit at a retail store. These credit
accounts are easier to obtain. Further, once you have been making regular
payments, it may become easier to get qualified for a major credit card.

Another option involves contacting your bank or credit union and
inquiring about bad credit Visa cards. Being a current customer may put you
at an advantage. If all else fails, attempt to get approved for a
secured credit card. This generally involves opening a savings account. In
this instance, the savings account serves as collateral.

If you have no credit history, it may help to ask a family member to be
a co-signer. Also, being added to another person's credit account is a
good way to establish credit. Fortunately, individuals with no credit
history can easily get approved for a bad credit Visa card.

All you need is a checking account, and a steady source of income and you can get up to 1000 dollars or more deposited directly into your checking account.

A pay day loan is designed to fulfill your short-term financial needs and should not be used as a regular lending source. The fees charged for pay day loans can be higher than a traditional loan from your bank and should only be used to solve temporary or emergency financial crises. Repeatedly obtaining pay day loans can cost you a lot of money if you extended your pay off date numerous times or if you continually borrow against your next pay check. If a short term pay day loan is the best choice for you, you can be approved and have up to 1000 dollars or more deposited into your checking account sometimes as soon as the very same day you apply.

Credit

Pay day loan interest rates vary from company to company. Some lenders offer discount rates for new or returning customers. Occasionally you may be required to fax your last pay check stub and bank statement prior to approval, but the funds can still be deposited into your checking account very quickly.

Bad Credit Payday or Cash Advance Loans - No Credit Check Required

Bad credit should not stop you from applying for a pay day loan. There will be no credit check, only the verification of the information you supply. Online lenders can approve you application quickly and you'll have the cash you need as soon as the very day you are approved.
